I first started lecturing on The Course at the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles in 1983.
Five years later, I was having dinner before my lecture in San Francisco with Dr. Jerry Jampolsky, one of the original “founding generation” of Course students. During our conversation he suggested that I write a book…

I’m thankful I took the advice, because in 1992, primarily because of the exposure given by Oprah Winfrey, my book A Return to Love became the fifth largest selling book that year.
It spent over 35 weeks at the #1 spot on the New York Times bestseller list, and even today continues to be read by people throughout the world.
I understand the enthusiasm for the book, because I understand my own enthusiasm for the principles of A COURSE IN MIRACLES.
I often joke that A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles is like a CliffsNotes of The Course, taking very profound and complicated material and popularizing it for a general audience. It was exciting to write the book, and it’s an honor that so many have found it meaningful.

Marianne Williamson
For more than four decades, Marianne Williamson has been a leader of spiritual and progressive circles. She is the author of 17 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times best sellers.
